Hi guys We have traveled to Kings today with Malachi and seen the amazing Mr Chandler (brain surgeon) sadly Malachis ventricles are Enlarged as we knew from the CT scan and the shunt is malfunctioning, the reservoir in his vp shunt is refilling when button clicked but not at the rate it should! With this in mind and his clinical appearance it was decided not to operate as an emergency but to be aware that it will fail soon. We may as hes not acutely unwell yet get a few days before they need to operate so the surgeon said as we have other children with special needs we could go home on the agreement that we take him back as soon as he starts to deteriorate or call an ambulance if he becomes unconscious, as the other option was to stay there so we are on site when it fails completely which could take a week to fail We chose to come home and relax in the comfort of our home together rather than have me & Malachi in London stuck in a small room & the others at home worrying! In answer to some of your questions we have had lol, he does have a failing shunt,He is not acutely ill at this moment But he could become acutely ill in a short space of time, we get to stay together as a family longer choosing this option, we have total faith in our surgeon and many of you can be testament to his skills. Malachi will need brain surgery but we can wait at home till he needs to be operated on which is perfect for us as a family! We will of course update as soon as any change happens. Thank you for yr kind words and messages u have been leaving us and of course your prayers!
