Hi guys, What is the Bible & the Gospel? The bible is the old testament and the laws, the words that God spoke through the prophets and the earthly temple, when Apostle Paul said to Timothy: in 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: Paul was talking about the old testament, the new testament it wasnt written at that moment, but the gospel is the Word of God with us and its not the bible which is the old testament, in Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Jesus when He sent the disciples to preach only the gospel, which is God with us, in Mark 16:15 And he said to them, Go you into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature, He never said preach the bible which are the scriptures but the gospel,. What is the Gospel that God in John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. the gospel is the good news of God, that He sacrified His only begotten Son. So dont be deceived we live the gospel, means Jesus is alive in us, and then we preach the gospel through the Holy Spirit which lives in us, so the new testament is the gospel and the letters of apostles advises to help us, but the Word of God is Jesus, Emmanuel: God with us, and the book of revelation was what Jesus showed to Apostle John about the future and the only place written, in Revelation 22:18 For I testify to every man that hears the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add to these things, God shall add to him the plagues that are written in this book: So we live the gospel and preach it all the time, because Jesus: in Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. So the Bible which is the old tesatment was given first for the jewish and it was witnessing about Jesus and preparing His first coming, like in Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given: and the government shall be on his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace, and also in John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: but most of them they didnt believe God, Isaiah 53:1 Who has believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?, and then when Jesus came on earth, they were stumbled by the scriptures and rejected the Emmauel; God with us. So let us be an open gospel for Jesus, so Jesus can write in us what we must preach and to do His will. God bless you.
