Hi guys bit of a league update 26.8.2013 2014/15 Premier and Reserve grade competition has been confirmed by the Board members at the meeting held 21.8.2013. After consultation of the proposal sent to all clubs, clubs were then invited to meet and discuss the proposal, including a written reply, it is confirmed the following will be the competition format for the Premier and Reserve grades for 2014/2015 seasons. The purpose of this proposal is to provide a more unified and competitive competition for both grades. Both divisions will be made up of 7 teams- Clubs are as follows in no particular order and could be subject to change. Pikiao Ngongotaha Central Reporoa Taupo Tauhara Turangi Mangakino Forestland Pacific Putaruru The commencement date for 2014 is March 22nd with the 9 aside tournament which is compulsory. The main championship begins March 29th, with 2 rounds over 14 weeks of round robin play. Key dates for 2014- May 17th Country v Country- Town v Town these are trial games for Town and Country selection. Queens Birthday weekend no games- Rangitahi Tournament. June 14th Town v Country- this game is a trial for the BOP Representative Team. 1 weekend is set aside with an invitation round TBC. Grand Final day is currently set for August 16th. Clubs with one team, matched to another will be allowed to interchange players from either club without transfer this is only permitted for this competition. Clubs will be required to make their commitment by a deposit of a fee of $250.00 to be paid by November 1st 2013 for the 2014 season. This fee will be nonrefundable if a club fails in its obligation to the competition. A draw will be provided for the 2014 season by the second week of November 2013, this will assist clubs to prepare finances and funding for the 2014 season. Affiliation fees and club criteria to be confirmed, please note all junior club grades criteria will be considered on location and current strength of each club with the purpose to continue to grow and develop all clubs.
