Hi, my name is Roxy and heres my story! When I was brought to GEYD I had eight puppies who were only a day or two old. I didnt trust anybody but was a very good mother, and was very protective of my puppies! Everyone was so nice to me though and I slowly began to trust the women, but the men still scared me. After my puppies were weaned and I was on my own I was very afraid of men coming to my kennel and I would bark and growl at them, but everyone still tried to help me trust them. The day after I went to the vet to be spayed I was bleeding very badly, because there had been complications with my surgery because I had been over-bred, and I almost died. That was on Good Friday, and it was a good Friday because the vet did another surgery on me and I survived! Bill and Karen took good care of me and it was a turning-point in my learning to trust men. Bill and I became really close while he was helping me recover, and he really wanted to take me home, but already has several dogs there. One of my favorite things is to wrap my legs around your waist and give you a huge hug with my head tucked into your belly! I scared my vet by doing this when he wasnt expecting me to; it made everyone laugh! I also love to just lay in your lap and get my belly rubbed. I love my Kong toy, especially when it has a milkbone in it, and I play catch and fetch too! I would really like to have a family to love as it makes me sad to be in my kennel all day and not be able to be by people. Thank you for reading my story.. do you know anyone who could love me??
