Hi, thanks for the add. Here is my first attempt at digital painting. Any constructive critique to improve the realism of the car body in this image would be greatly appreciated. My interest in digital painting at this point has been teaching myself how to create improved autochops (modified automobile images). I began this as a personal challenge to improve and expand my images beyond standard photo-editing methods. I had never artistically painted anything before real or digital, no art classes, just seeing what others are doing in their images and trying to recreate it. Im using Corel PSP X1, so any Adobe-based painting tutorials just give me the basic idea. Ive been figuring out my own specific methods in which Im probably doing a lot of this the hard way. The basic car body shape, door/fender jams & handles, highlights & shadows were all painted on numerous layers to best resemble a photo-realistic image. The headlight/taillight, windows and background are from the original photo. Thanks for looking. ;-)
