Hi there Chit Chat & Tack members😊 I need some advice, I am from the old school of owning a horse. Just for example: When schooling my mare, I always like to warm my her up by doing lots of walking, changing rein, transitions from halt to walk, 20 meter circles, 3 loop serpentines etc. I do all this before I start trotting. I could go on about my old fashion ways, but I dont want to bore you. ( I guess I need to check out the modern way of doing things) Now what I want to know is, after a lesson on my mare this evening, she was rather hot & sweaty, so after walking around the school in hand to cool her off, she was still rather hot & sweaty, so I sponged her off, and put on her sweat rug & as it was raining I decided to leave her in the stable for the night, as I didnt have the time to wait for her to dry off. I was told that I could have turned her out in her out-door rug, as these days the modern New-Zealand rugs are designed so that you can turn a sweaty wet horse straight out into the field. I didnt realise that you could do this. I know these new rugs are totally breathable now days. Advice please? Thank you in-advance. Kindest of Regards Sarah😊
