Hi there everyone! So this is Lou. She came to me as a supposed stray but I come to find out, she belonged to a Siamese cat breeder outside of Lindsay Ontario. Lou has a rare gene that caused her coat to turn black as she aged (shes currently 2 or 3yrs old). When she was born, the breeder told me, she looked like she would eventually be a very dark seal point but was shocked when she instead, began to slowly turn black! Unknown to her when she was at work, her husband threw Lou out into the backyard, fearing that this rare gene disorder would transfer should she be bred (it did but only with one kitten as she came to me pregnant) and instead of selling her for less then what she was worth (around $300 to $400) he was willing to break the law to get rid of her. Lou is your typical Siamese. Shes quirky, fun loving, and LOVES my bath tub (no seriously, she LOVES my bath tub x.x and my sinks). Im just wondering if anyone would happen to know the name of the gene disorder that causes a normal looking kitten to all of a sudden go pure black. As you can faintly tell she has green eyes instead of blue though they turn blue in certain light settings. Im also wondering, if anyone else has a black siamese kitty or kitties.
