Hi there family and friends we had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day family from California, New Mexico & Texas all came to visit us also our children and grandchildren came so we were all together and we feel very blessed all the support and love is so amazing I cant say Thank you enough. ! Well Thursday night when everyone left the nurse came in to remove Vernon s staples all went well until the end from his belly button down it came open it was horrible not to mention very painful for Vernon so the nurse with my help had to use steri strips to hold his abdomen together we were warned this could happen before surgery due to steroids and chemo and it did ! So praise God we now have a wound specialist nurse who came in today and pulled his abdomen together correctly and there also having to do a wet dry dressing every eight hours to help the wound heal and to get any bacteria out of the wound that might be present with all that said its very painful for Vernon and very hard in my heart to watch ! The surgeon also showed me the pictures today of Vernons colon it was a total mess there was dead tissue everywhere with a very large whole in his colon and small ones all over it so of course I asked what caused this to happen and his answer was Chemo I felt so sad but very grateful that our God had this hospital right across the street from where we were staying and Vernon eS doing rehab or Vernon wouldnt be here with us today because he never would have made it all the way to Baylor of Dallas at five oclock traffic so we know God had hand in all if this ! Saturday Vernon woke up in severe pain and Sunday they finally did a CT SCAN of his abdomen the surgeon told us that the inside of his body looks amazing he couldnt believe it himself he said no infection no puss or obstruction that all of Vernons pain is superficial so we are very thankful as I was talking to the surgeon I was thanking him and I said I guess God has different plans for Vernon beings he was very close to death when we brought him in he says yes it truly a miracle that he made it out of the OR ROOM and that his progress since surgery is remarkable I said yes isnt God good and he agreed thank you Lord Jesus for our many blessings we are given every day ! Please keep praying because you see our God heres us and he continues to answer our prayers ! Thank you all & we love each and everyone of you !
