Hi, this is Dawna LoPiccolo, one of the admins for the COME BACK - TopicsExpress

Hi, this is Dawna LoPiccolo, one of the admins for the COME BACK JACK page. I have been sitting back, quiet this week, just watching and reading. I think in an admin role it is important to assess before making suggestions, comments or reflections about the efforts of others. Victoria called me today, looking for input and it was quite ironic that I had just finished a rather lengthy call before Liz posted her thoughts. Victoria needs a more objective voice, and this is the role she has asked me to take. As she and Liz will head up the operations, I will help Victoria handle the influx of emotion and remain that sounding board for her. First and foremost, we all have good hearts but too many cooks are not only going to kill the broth, but in this case, can really hinder the SAFE rescue of Jack. In Jack’s case, we have learned that less is more. So, a couple of things: 1) There will be a second look at admin roles on the page, as to who can post and what information is posted, as we have to remain streamlined and consistent with the message out there. 2) Having passion isn’t always enough. We need to match the right skill with the right job. And while everyone is volunteering, we need to still make sure that good intent isn’t getting in the way of progress. (I am being the practical one here, so let’s not take these comments as being negative folks). 3) A small committee will be formed and FB messages will be generated among the committee to finalize search plans and THEN post for the general public to join in. We feel this is the best approach so we don’t have rogue searches going on. Nikki has been very clear that too much activity is still the biggest threat to Jack. 4) A DAILY UPDATE of, progress or challenges will be made at an agreed upon time. Victoria wants everyone to know that she is aware that most people helping have jobs, lives, children, etc. and DOES NOT expect admins to babysit this site to answer questions all day. She is so incredibly grateful. Everyone means well and is concerned for Jack’s return, but I must echo Liz’s sentiments. Victoria knows it is cold, and does not need to be reminded that Jack is out there in this. Victoria knows he may be hungry and knows that some of you don’t agree with the experts. Admins in the future will be deleting all negative comments as they are really having a compound effect on Victoria’s mental capacity to stay positive and for the group to keep moving forward. In closing, the kindness, friendship and love that Victoria has been shown by Mt Juliet, is something that is not soon to be forgotten by Victoria or anyone who has participated on any level. For me personally, it confirms that I made the right decision to move here a little over a year and half ago! Victoria is very much still driving this effort from MN, but with Dawn stepping back due to illness we need to redefine some volunteer leadership roles and are simply regrouping so we can continue this journey all the way through to a successful reunion. May God continue to bless Jack during his crazy antics and bring him back to Victoria. May Good please watch over our trackers, flyer hangers, prayer team, ribbon makers, cheerleading squads, that he guides us in the right direction. May God please offer Victoria some peaceful nights sleep, knowing that she has done and continues to do everything she can to bring her baby home.
