Hi, we are at a dead end. I have been so apprehensive about posting because I just dont want to admit that I failed... but I have. What do you do with a horse that is way beyond your training abilities? We bought a beautiful Belgian from a trusted friend. We knew her mom well- she is an awesome horse. The first day we had her I was putting her in the pasture and she trampled me and broke my leg. She ran right over me like I wasnt even there. Since then Ive hired a Parelli trainer. I sent her to a trainer ($) in Sacramento that fired us. He said she was the worst horse (out of 400+) he ever dealt with. She got sent home. She is not angry. She is not rank. She is rude. She likes parelli games as long as there is no pressure. We cant do her feet. All the farriers have fired us. We have even sedated her to do her feet and even then my husband (who does all out other drafts) was only able to get her fronts done. She is only 4 1/2 years old, she could have a great future but she has tapped out our abilities and bank account. What do you do when you are at the end of the line? Oh, she is an 1800 lb beautiful Belgian. Please! Do you have any advice? I cant sell her, she is beautiful but no one wants a giant bully. I am willing to give her away to a good home but then again I dont want anyone to get hurt...? And I dont want anyone to hurt her. This has been going on for 2 years. We (she) got kicked out of her living situation because she is too dangerous. I have her in pasture now but she is just getting older, bigger, and more rude. Our vet has said it would be a responsible decision to put her down before she hurts or kills someone Thanks for taking the time to read.
