High temperatures today in the low 70 were just shy of record - TopicsExpress

High temperatures today in the low 70 were just shy of record highs. Readings tonight will be very warm with lows remaining in the mid 50s. This is warmer than our normal day time high for late November. A strong cold front will drop into the Ozarks Sunday afternoon. Highs should warm back into the mid 60s before the front arrives. Cold air will follow the front and temperatures will drastically drop Sunday afternoon to the upper 30s by dinnertime. Temperatures will drop below freezing over all of the Ozarks except far southern sections in Arkansas. Clouds will also be on the increase as the front approaches too. This moisture is going to be shallow so only light freezing rain or freezing drizzle is possible. Models are hinting that a tenth to around a half inch of ice is possible south of I-44. Heavier amounts will be centered along the Missouri Arkansas state line. A brief power outage is possible but should be the exception rather than the rule. I think the bigger issue is going to be slick spots on area roads especially bridges and overpasses. Temperatures already begin to war on Tuesday with highs returning to the 50s by Wednesday. Light showers will increase in intensity from Thursday through Saturday of next week.
