Higher Everyday Friday, August 16, 2013 IRREVERSIBLE CHANGE "He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still" (Revelations 22: 11) Chemistry students are familiar with the fact that physical changes are easily reversible, but chemical changes are not reversible. For example water can be changed from liquid to gas and back to liquid through the process of distillation or condensation. This is a physical change. However, if you heat a cube of sugar in a test tube, it will melt and turn brown and black. This is a chemical change. It is not reversible! Most important is the fact of the irreversible state of man after death. By nature, all human beings are dead spiritually in sins and trespasses, though alive physically. If a sinner dies physically in that state, then he/she will enter into eternal death; separated from God forever in the lake of Fire. "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement" (Hebrews 9:27). However, repentance brings you alive spiritually and when you die, you will go into eternity of bliss. If you are still a sinner, now is the day of salvation! Challenge: Where will you spend eternity? Prayer: Lord, help me to live a consistent Christian life. Further Reading: Luke 16: 22-26
