Higher Everyday Friday, January 23, 2015 WAIT ON THE LORD “The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.” (Lamentations 3:25, 26) Considering the long and difficult process it takes a butterfly to emerge from its cocoon, a devotional writer wrote: “If you try to rush God’s purpose and process in your life, you will produce something deformed, something that cannot get off the ground and fly.” Youthful period is often associated with explorations, decision-making, grandeur and impatience. Yet, humility and patience are necessary virtues, which enhance the ability to wait for God’s will in life. Good things come to those who wait or are patient. Dear youth, are you patiently waiting for God’s will for your life? Our text today assures that God is good to those who wait upon Him. No matter the challenges you face in life, don’t give up; wait upon the Lord. Be patient and hold unto God; He will not disappoint you, but change your situation. Yield not to social vices, ungodly influence and pressures, satanic manipulations, anxiety, fear, worry and impatience. Focus on God, walk by faith and not by sight, and He will not disappoint you.
