Higher Everyday Update, Saturday 22/06/13 TOPIC: MAGNANIMOUS MACEDONIANS Text: "How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality." (2 Corinthians 8:2). The action of the Macedonian Church which is here recommended to the Corinthians amounts to exhibition of a rare kind of big-heartedness. These Christians in Macedonia were undergoing great affliction amidst their "deep poverty". Yet they were willing to share the little they had with the Corinthian Christians. They were not tight- fisted. Indeed, they wisely sowed seeds for the heavenly treasures. Learn to invest your resources in the kingdom of God through love offerings or assistance to needy brethren, especially when they need it most. Even as youth, you can give your treasures, time and talent for the expansion of the work of God. This is the wisdom that is most uncommon among, Christians of today, yet that is the scriptural route out of poverty! Challenge: Always give in spite of challenges.
