Higher Everyday for Monday, October 6, 2014TITLE :PORTION OF SINNERS. TEXT:“Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.” (Psalms 11:6) A young graduate who detested God in his school days seemed to have been successful when he came out with a Second Class Upper division in Mechanical Engineering. He came first in the test for his dream job in Oil Company, but was not given the job. The failure repeated itself three consecutive times so he sought the help of his village chief and got “introductory note” from him twice, but the rejection continued. Sin denies you of God’s presence and peace. In desperation the young man knelt down in humility and repentance and prayed “Oh God be merciful to me a sinner. Forgive my pride, remove the snares, fire and brimstone and the horrible tempest from me.” The very next interview he got the job. Are you living in sin? Do you know that God is angry with you every day? It is only true repentance and turning to God that can save you. Challenge: Even in prosperity, a sinner remains an enemy of God.
