Higher Everyday for Sunday, October 5, 2014 TITLE: SAINTLY SAMUEL. TEXT:“And the child Samuel grew on, and was in favour both with the Lord, and also with men” (I Samuel 2: 26) This is not the usual Samuel you find in your home, school, street, library or church, who is a sinner and short-sighted, shallow and shaky. The word saintly tells us many good things about this Samuel. He is saved, special, separated, sanctified, and spirit-filled. Presently, do you know that you are older than Samuel because his mother, Hannah, dedicated him to the service of the Lord at a very tender age? As a youth you might not exactly find yourself in a temple like Samuel. For example, you might be in a boarding school and your parents or guardians get to see you only during visiting days or holidays. Being Born-again can turn you around. All you need to do is acknowledge you are a sinner, confess and forsake your sins and tell Jesus to come into your heart. Once you’ve done so, you can make yourself available for service in your fellowship and continue diligently with your studies. Challenge: Your today’s choice tells what you shall become tomorrow. Prayer: Oh Lord, helped me to be like Jesus. Further Reading: Daniel 1: 1-20. Quotation: You shall find favour.
