Hildegard von Bingen was a nun who lived in a convent in Germany in the 12th century. She was a political and social moralist, musical composer, poet, naturalist, herbalist, gemologist, author of medicinal and botanical texts, playwright, and clairvoyant. Her visions of the cosmic egg is one that has attracted much interest over the years. Here, guest author Gary A David explores the symbology behind her prophetic vision.
