Hill+Knowlton Strategies puts out pretty advertisements suggesting that fracking companies are clean and green. Curiously, Hill and Knowlton is the same advertising firm that, in 1954, launched the campaign to assure the public that smoking cigarettes was safe. For 40 years, they argued: There is no conclusive proof that cigarettes cause cancer.
