Him: “We insist that your kids to go to our elementary school - TopicsExpress

Him: “We insist that your kids to go to our elementary school next year.” Me: “Why should they?” Him: “Because we get more money from the government if they attend our school.” Me: “That is unacceptable. My kids are happy where they are, and its a far better school than yours. I will not move them.” Him: “We will make you.” Me: “I invite you to try. I was just thinking about how much I would enjoy putting my resources to use in exposing you for what you are. I’ll bet I can even get your mug on the front page a few times.” -- This is not how the conversation went. In fact it was fairly pleasant and diplomatic. But this was the unspoken message. I nearly always choose diplomacy first, and recommend it to anyone who asks. Most of the time it is enough to achieve an amicable solution. But I find it hard to walk this path when my kids are involved, and admit to feeling a fire within me. How far will I go to ensure a good education for my kids? As far as my passion (and the law) will allow which, thankfully, is pretty far.
