Hip Hip Hooray. We managed to get some much needed rain early this morning. 1/2 inch was measured and quickly soaked up by our parched fields. We hope this breaks the dry pattern. David and crew are still busy irrigating the sweetcorn. We have seen a few ears showing the effects of the dry weather, despite having already been irrigated once. It has been a few years since we have had to make a 2nd pass through the patch. Irrigating will continue until we get significant rains. Lots and lots of work, but well worth it. We have been eating corn every day. Have to enjoy it since in a blink of an eye it will be Halloween and the fresh tastes of summer will be but a memory. Come on out today for some hand pulled, fresh and delicious Big Dave SuperSweet Corn.
