#Hiring Account Director – Convention Department: Sales in #Doha , #Qatar Standard Requirements • Highly professional in appearance, character and conduct • Positive attitude and team spirit • Effective interpersonal skills, resourcefulness and creativity • Display passion for our guests and enthusiasm for the job • Ability to work under pressure and to adjust to flexible working hours • Ability to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace – fluency in English is required; any other additional language skills are appreciated • Good communication skills Specific Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree in related area is mandatory • Minimum four years related experience in Convention Sales in a 5 star hotel in the Middle East is required • Previous Starwood experience is preferred • Previous GCC experience is required • Fluency in Arabic is required • Strong knowledge of Banquet Set-up and Operation • Excellent Menu Knowledge • Strong financial management skills • Able to multi-task and priorities tasks consistent with business objectives • Display of comprehensive computer skills in MS Office email • Knowledge of Fidelio/Opera systems • Leads and organizes an effective sales team including development and supervision in order to maximize the hotel revenues • Understands the overall Qatar market- and competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand and knows how to sell against them • Negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business negotiate and sign contracts • Effectively develops relationships within the community to strengthen and expand customer base for future sales opportunities • Coordination of report monthly submissions such as Room Night Production Report, Monthly Sales Activity Report, etc. • Results oriented • Ability to take a customer focused decision independently, whilst remaining cognizant of all management principles • Great organizational and problem solving skills with emphasis on “people management • Ability to train, motivate, evaluate, mentor and direct associates • Ability to analyze financial information and prepare budged and outlet goals • Responds appropriately to guests’ needs during hours of operation interested candidates to send me their resume to aborhan@gala-h , only shortlisted will be contacted.
