Core Responsibilities: · Operation of vertical boring and machining equipment. · Production of items from drawings and plans. · Development of drawings and concept sketches. · Welding and fabrication operations. · Responsible for ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety at Works Act · Management of fixed workshop facilities. The principal duties of the welder include: · Repairs as directed by the Site Supervisor/Manager · Initiation of list of materials from drawing to Minor works Deputy or Manager. · From time to time you will be asked to support other trades during times of urgent or critical workloads. · Good understanding and working knowledge of codes of practice, British Standard and good working practice or similar European practices. Reporting and Authority: Scope of Accountability: Small, accountable for support or sub functions. Autonomy: Supervised, supervision received is usually centred on job results or methods used, ., problem solving approaches, establishing broad parameters for projects, work organisation, progress reports, etc. There will be general supervision. Reports to: Minor Works Manger or his Deputy Working Conditions: Based in theatre, possible arduous conditions.
