Hiring media advisers, PR agency, film stars sign of desperation in SAD-BJP govt, says Partap Singh Bajwa Compliments Kairon for stand on principals, flays BJP ministers for becoming ‘bonded labour’ of Badal Chandigarh, October 5- Mr. Partap Singh Bajwa MP and President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee(PPCC) today complimented the Food and Civil Supplies minister Mr. Adesh Partap Singh Kairon for taking firm stand on principals during cabinet meeting, opposing the appointment of so many media advisors and imposing advance tax on import of articles. In a statement issued here Mr. Bajwa said that while Mr. Kairon had shown his mantle, the BJP ministers present in the meeting behaved like ‘bonded labour’ of Badal family. He said that none of five BJP ministers questioned the Chief Minister. Paraksh Singh Badal and Finance Minister Mr. Parminder Singh Dhindsa on advance tax which is an alternative of entry tax. The Punjab and Haryana High Court had already stayed the collection of entry tax, he stated. Mr. Bajwa said that the appointment of so many media advisers and hiring film stars as brand anbassadors and top end Public Relations(PR) company to portray a rosy picture of otherwise ‘corrupt and inefficient’ SAD-BJP government were signs of desperation in the mind of Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal and his brother- in- law, the PR Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia. Mr. Bajwa said that martyrs like Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev are the real brand ambassodors of Punjab. “I fail to understand what Mr. Sukhbir Badal wish to show the world by projecting film stars like Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapur and Akshay Kumar as the brand amabsassdors of Punjab”, said Mr. Bajwa. He added that fantasies of Mr. Sukhbir Badal were so funny that he would not be surprised if tomorrow he (Sukhbir) announced to hire services of Spiderman for fast delivery of services. PPCC president said that while a team of over two dozen Public Relations Officers was already working in the PR department, it seemed Mr. Majithia is not competent and lacks self-confidence. “Too many cooks spoil the broth, Bajwa reminded Mr. Badal. He further said that as if Mr. Sukhbir Badal was not enough to build castles in the air and this is what he had been precisely doing for the last seven years. Mr. Bajwa told the Chief Minister that any sort of PR exercise would not improve the sagging image of SAD-BJP government unless good governance is given to people. He said that SAD-BJP government was failing on every front and it was ridicules on part of PR minister to expect that media would fall prey to such gimmicks. The adverse stories about bad governance of SAD-BJP government appearing in media these days were true reflection of damning performance of those sitting at helm of affairs. Mr. Bajwa told BJP ministers not to sit in the cabinet like lame ducks and fight for the cause of people. He said that people had voted them to safeguard their interests where as BJP ministers were busy serving their own interests.
