His Holiness Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II received Her Excellency Dr. Kinda Al-Shammat, Syrian Minister of Social Affairs and Labor at the Patriarchate in Bab Touma - Damascus in the presence of His Eminence Mor Dionysius Jean Kawak, Patriarchal Assistant. Dr. Al-Shammat congratulated His Holiness on the occasion of Christmas and spoke about the relief work that the Ministry of Social Affairs organizes. She also spoke of the good impression that His Holiness visit to Aleppo for Christmas left in the hearts of all the Syrian people. His Holiness thanked the minister for her efforts in implementing new projects that aim at easing the effects of the crisis on the Syrian people. He also spoke of the work and services that the patriarchate is offering through St. Ephrem Patriarchal Development Committee (EPDC) in Damascus and throughout Syria.
