His last name is synonyms with Gospel Music. I grew up listening to this group and singing along with them. The eight-time Grammy Award-winning pioneers of Gospel Music got their start in 1934 and have been proclaiming The Good News, Through It All ever since then. These guys have shared the stage with everybody from Elvis to Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. and in the process they have recorded over 200 albums and sold over 50 million records. In addition to being awarded 8 Grammy Awards, they have acquired four Dove Awards, and have been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, the Gospel Music Association (GMA) Hall Of Fame, the Southern Gospel Music Association (SGMA) Museum and Hall of Fame, and the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. Today the legacy of one set of my childhood heroes continues on in Ron F. Blackwood, I am proud to have him as a friend, but even prouder to call him Brother. Happy Birthday Ron, now Im gonna celebrate by listening to you and the boys sing.....
