Seated on the left side of grey premio, he had the stopwatch hanging on his neck.(like a midget, he he he) He first introduced the workout as regenerate running which according to him was one whose motive was to ensure the flow of blood from the toes all the way to the head....aaaaish, what if the toe blood sticks in my head? Na warm up ya 3K kwani imefikisha damu ya miguu kwa magoti?Those were the questions in my head,but I nodded like everything made a lot of sense. 10 Kilometers later, the game and the heat was on.If that is what moderate paced run is, then moderate meant some else. The premio caught up with us and the coach was on the passengers seat rambling words of instructions,corrections, encouragements and all that in whatever order.He got by my side and he was like. Roll on,mayne!!! We were approaching a slope and he was like Roll on down,mayne...looking good,mayne Then it hit me that he has schooled in coaching in the states....why all this mayne,mayne?....mayne...Even his accent was Denzels. Then we got to a flat and he was like... Relax,...mayne!! Relax your hands swing, mayne!! ....good,..okay now stretch your strides a bit longer ...good!,..now high knees!, ...now i dont wanna hear that noise(n I was thinking, dont you see that this is not grass but hard ground?And my Nikes are not padded in what God used for cats feet...Nigger!!!), anyway,I ran gently like a cat, but all that was interupted by ...good!,...thats good...now just relax and enjoy the run, all the way! (Aish, how am I to enjoy the remaining 8K at such a wild pace?) All this was interrupted by what he said next...I had never heard that word from a man that old. Especially,I had never heard it from a nandi old man.I had never expected it either..Maybe in his stay in the states some nigger friend didnt tell him of an option to exclaim something like Wooooooohoooooo!!! when you like the progress of what you are seeing....or something like Come ...on,mayne!!! He said what made my hair rise and the being in me helplessly confused and speechless at the same time. This old and humble nandi bald Atwoli look alike said SHHHHHHHHHIETT!!!
