Hisar/Jalalabad (Ds Komal) Hisar-based Haryana Agricultural University (HAU) have developed five new varieties/hybrids of wheat and oil seeds. These include HHB-234 of Bajra, WH 1105 and WHD 948 of wheat, RH 0479 of mustard and HT 9713/HT2 of sesame. These varieties have been released and notified by the Central Variety Release/ Notification Committee (CVRC) for cultivation, stated the Vice-Chancellor, K S Khokhar today. He said that wheat variety WH 1105 is a bread wheat variety which has been released and notified for cultivation under timely sown irrigated conditions in the Northern Western Plain Zone (NWPZ) of the country comprising Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, UP, Jammu Kashmir and foot-hills of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. In national trials_____( WH 1105 gave an average yield of 52.5 quintals per hectare and potential yield of 71.6 q/ha.) It out yielded the popular wheat varieties namely PBW-343, PBW-17, PBW 550 and HD 2967 by a margin of 8.69, 1.54, 5.62 and 0.95 per
