History is made by leaders who have the courage to sacrifice - TopicsExpress

History is made by leaders who have the courage to sacrifice political expediency for the good of their nations. Risking a momentous fall out in the US, Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves. Although he later paid the ultimate price, he was able to abolish one of the most oppressive practices in the history of his country. While JF Kennedy kept on pussy footing about legislating on civil rights to pacify the white segregationists for political expediency, Leyndon Jonson used all his political capital to push through legislations aimed at abolishing the shameful Jim Crow system of racial segregation. Uhuru Kenyatta has demonstrated leadership by declining to personally engage in the Gatundu South by-election politics. His resounding silence on the events going on in Gatundu clearly shows that leadership has finally come of age. While-as many are taking his silence for a direct endorsement of Kiarie Kamere, whispers in the corridors of power indicate that the president was disappointed by the manner in which TNA Officials handled the Nomination process. The president further doesnt want to create a scenario that will appear like he sanctions Kurias lethal political outbursts which has in many ways have intensified animosity among communities. Its utterly clear that Kurias mission to parliament is to engage Cord and Raila, meaning Roads, Water, Bursaries, Healthcare, Uwezo Fund CDF etc takes a back seat. Thats why the ordinary mwananchi cannot resonate with his aborted mission. Gatundu South has produced two presidents and given them to the National Politics, this time they want a person closer to them who they can engage with as has been the case with the late Hon Josee. Moses Kuria is not Uhuru Kenyattas project, he is a project of some TNA Operatives at the National level who wants to reward one of their own who has been left out of any appointment by the Jubilee two years down the line. Aden Duale should respect the people of Gatundu and cease his threats on MPs & MCAs who have openly rejected to endorse Moses Kuria. They have acted in their right to respect the dignity of the people of Gatundu to make their decision without undue coercion. The people of Gatundu has one message, they want a representative, they want visionary leadership, they want development. Thats their mission on the morning of 7/8/2014. No amount of intimidation, coercion, threats even from the entire TNA brigade that rigged Kuria, can change their voice of reason.
