History of Barrio REPARO.. Barrio Reparo was called by that name since the Spanish times, the name taken from a Spanish term, ‘reparo’, meaning ‘to review’. Reparo during the early times was very mountainous and almost uninhibited. It was very near the mountains of Latag. During those times, the bad elements, called ‘mangloloob’ used Reparo as their meeting place to plan their nasty deeds and after that, meet there again, ‘para reparohin ang mga nangyari – para reparohin kung magkano ang kabuuang pera, alahas o mga hayop, na kanilang nanakaw sa mga tao’; hence the name, ‘Reparo’. As of 1952, Reparo has 3 sitios: PINGKIAN - was so called the name because of a certain kind of stone called ‘pingkian’, which are abundant in the place. This stone is hard, metal-like, with colors like dry leaves, and sometimes, white. This kind of stone is also used for making fire (by striking it with a piece of steel, in between them, a ‘konbad’ a kind of thread like material taken from Kaong tree). It was in sitio Pingkian where the first school in Reparo was opened in November 18, 1952. KINABUGSUKAN - is a place lower than any other place near it. It is also said to have very soft soil composition, a kind of soil also, which is not being easily eroded that during the rainy season there are plenty of muddy whirlpool-like current formed, called ‘kumunoy’. Sitio Kinabugsukan is also the ideal passage way for the people of nearby barrios, Munting Indang, Latag and others, in going to the town of Nasugbu, not only of its proximity to the town, but also it was the only space cleared during those times. These passers-by, as well as the animals they used as transports (horses or carabaos), usually are getting trapped in the ‘kumunoys’. ‘Bumubugsok’ sa kumunoy, hence the place was called ‘Kinabugsukan’. TAMPISAW - during the Spanish times, a tree called ‘tampisaw’ grow abundantly in the place that the natives called the place ‘Tampisaw’.
