Hit TV programme Big Bang Theory - ABA gets a second mention. Theory is that main character Sheldon is HF autistic/Aspergers. We love this show, even if there is some exaggeration of ABA (to make it funny!) Following up on the news about the CBSs Big Bang Theory requesting our permission to use the footage of pigeons playing ping pong. You can say one thing about the creators of the Big Bang Theory: they are great communicators. They have informed us that the show was successfully taped past Tuesday in front of a live audience. The final version of the script differed from original pages sent to the B. F. Skinner Foundation. The modifications accommodated some of the Foundations suggestions. We need to give the show’s writers a lot of credit: they do want to get the science right! In the final version operant conditioning occurs in a very brief sketch, with pigeons playing ping pong off screen. So stay tuned, as they say, and watch the episode on 10/13. Oh, and one more thing: some of your commented on how the same show already mentioned B. F. Skinner and used some positive reinforcement for laughs. For those who missed that episode (it was a part of Season 3), here is the link to the segment.
