Hit report 22/11/14 South Dorset Hunt Cheselbourne Manor A difficult area to Sab on this rolling country side as the hunt can disappear easily. However it didnt go all the hunts way. After foot Sabs going in North of the meet the hunt soon rode off away from Sabs and disappeared. However seeing them to the south west of Cheselbourne Sabs realised they could be heading to a wood called Doles Hill Plantation. So the Landy dropped off Sabs there. We soon located the hunt nearby and took up position. After a while realising the field had rode North Sabs headed on that direction. Spotting quads on the horizon we moved to the north edge of the wood to see hounds after a fox. So using our new gizmo we soon pulled the hounds off the scent. This irked the huntsman and whipper in who galloped over and were soon in our faces as we protected the gizmo!Quads also arrived on the scene but we stood out ground. Oh and the but were following a trail and showing us a rope with a rag on it didnt wash!! Film to follow tomorrow. As the hunt moved off more balaclava clad hunt supporters arrived. We then made our way after the hunt. After much cat and mouse with hunt supporters following the Landy. A sock sight was seen. A hint terrier boy showing off a freshly cut foxes tail still covered in blood! Later he had it in his back trouser pocket!! Clearly trying to provoke s reaction! The huntsman usually doesnt travel far. But clearly frustrated at our presence another Sab vehicle found hounds at Milton Abbas. They soon cane across a fox running through the village and sprayed the area seeing the fox off safely without the hunt realising! When we got to the area the huntsman was trying to get the hounds to pick up the scent. The hunt moved off again travelling done distance finishing at Dewlish as it got dark. A mixed day for Sabs but at least knowing we saved 2 foxes but sad for the fox killed today. Also found at Manor Farm Dewlish crates for calves!
