Hitting brick walls on geneology stuff. All the sites I have tried are pay for info sites. I hate that! Its all public information...why should we have to pay for it? This is difficult enough, my dad was an orphan - never adopted and I know both his biological parents names - they were married, but I cant find any information on them. On top of that, I inherited a huge pile of a family tree from my mothers side of the family that is in absolute shambles. I dont even know where to start! I have family documents going back to the early 1800s that are crumbling and I dont know how to preserve them except maybe mount them on acid free paper? If anyone knows anything about this stuff. I would appreciate a clue or two. Thanks!
