Hmm! While mourning the dead in recent bomb blast in Jos, we - TopicsExpress

Hmm! While mourning the dead in recent bomb blast in Jos, we should also look at the similar bombing happening to our education, especially in the southwest believed to be the first in education! Kudos to Legendary Late Obafemi Awolowo. I have just read the Vanguard Newspaper that the man I like so much for the next Nigerian Presidency - Gov Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola of Lagos State has decided to make University Education in Lagos state an abomination for the children of the less-privileged, the children of the lower cadre public servants, the children of artisans, the children of bus drivers, the children of local small-scale farmers in Lagos state and beyond. He, Babatunde Fasola did this by the introduction of LASU tuition fee regime of N348, 750. Now, this is WICKEDNESS. This wickedness is of similar magnitude to Boko Haram insurgency (as said by Barrister Femi Falana). Even though Gov Fasola was lucky to be born into a rich family, can I ask the governor how much did he pay when he was at Birch Freeman High school Lagos and Igbobi College Lagos? Can he tell us how much he paid for the four years of his Law studies at the University of Benin where he got his Bachelor of Laws, LL.B.(Hon), degree in 1987 (During the Military Juntas of Buhari and IBB)? Then he should tell us the amount of work one would do to get such money compared to the amount of work to get the fee of N348,750 he just introduced? Does it occur to Babatunde Fasola that some of his official drivers are old enough to have children in LASU? How much is the annual salary of his senior driver? Is it up to N348,750 per annum? Now Gov Fasola should pray tell me, how will such driver NOT steal? Gov Fasola should tell me how would the civil servants NOT justify stealing. Or Babatunde Raji Fasolas intention is to make the children of his drivers perpetual slaves to his own children? IF Fasola lacks idea of how to run University Education that is accessible and affordable to every willing child irrespective of his or her parental background and financial status, then let him talk to me, I will offer him a set of robust IDEAS, which we could rigorously review together. I hope Hon Femi Gbaja is reading this? The last time he was talking about the difference between the APC and the PDP manifestoes to some foreign delegates to Nigeria, he mentioned that the APC does not ONLY believe in FREE Education but the APC is practicing it, whereas the PDP only stated FREE Education in its manifesto but NOT practicing it. NOW, what does the House of Representatives Minority Leader has to say to this. I hope he will call on the European delegates again and tell them that Gov Fasola of Lagos (APC) has BOMBED LASU students and thier parents WITH A RIDICULOUS TUITION FEE ?
