MANILA, Philippines - A 67-year-old former taxi driver from Novaliches, Quezon City emerged as the sole winner of the 6/49 Super Lotto’s Oct. 5 draw, amounting to P90,126,700. The lucky family man who has six children matched the winning combination 43-48-6-11-13-29, using the birth dates of his family members; his bet at that time was P60. The winner reportedly told Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) acting Chairman Jose Ferdinand M. Rojas II when he claimed his prize that he never stopped betting on the lotto games even after he retired from driving a taxi; hoping that someday he will win the jackpot. And he did. The winner also relayed to the chairman that he started betting in the lotto in 1995 when it was first introduced in the Philippines. His plans include buying a house and lot, setting up a transportation business and sharing the win with his children and to charity. He claimed his prize at the PCSO Office in Quezon City last week with no hassles as everything was in place.
