Hobby Lobby Ruling Its hard for me to square the idea that Hobby Lobby is a Limited Liability Corporation (LLC), so they cannot be held personally liable in cases of litigation. On the other hand, they can impose their personal beliefs on how an employees use their health insurance compensation. Description of the advantage of being a LLC: Like corporations, LLCs provide their members protection from liability. This means that members are not personally liable for debts and often court judgments incurred by the LLC. Creditors are foreclosed from seeking the personal assets of the LLCs members. It is a meaningful shield not provided in a sole proprietorship or traditional partnership. Does it always work out in favor of the corporations and the wealthy?
