Holly Kirchberger, PE teacher at Desert Willow Elementary School, was awarded with an $3,500 grant for her mileage club running program was from Voya Financials Run For Something Better program. This program seeks to increase physical activity in students and help fight childhood obesity nationwide through the creation of school-based running programs. The DW mileage club is intended to keep kids more active during the school day and it provides kids an opportunity to be a part of a fun club. This club also helps to build students self esteem and eliminate issues during recess. Desert Willow will be one of 60 schools from across the nation to win this award. Congratulations to Holly and her students!
