Hollywood Feud - Loren, Brando and Chaplin They should have - TopicsExpress

Hollywood Feud - Loren, Brando and Chaplin They should have been the hottest couple in Hollywood, but when Marlon Brando was cast opposite Sophia Loren in the 1967 British comedy, A Countess from Hong Kong, sparks began to fly - and not in a good way. The pair were said to have taken a very different approach to their roles, and a feud erupted after Brando was reported to have asked Loren, “Did you know you have hairs up your nostrils?” during the filming of a love scene. In addition Brando was also thought to have clashed with the films director, Charlie Chaplin. It was the last film which was ever made by screen-veteran Chaplin, and was reported to have called working with Brando “impossible”. While Brando had originally been a fan of Chaplins work, he had a rather different opinion after working with him, describing his director as “probably the most sadistic man Id ever met.”
