His other great enjoyment came from travel, camping activities and enjoying the fellowship of family and friends, especially around a campfire. Mike received his Eagle Scout Award as well as the Lutheran Church Scouting award, Pro Deo et Patria. He was greatly influenced by these programs and lived his life according to their values.. Michael was a man of great Christian faith which was reflected in his dedication to his Bible Study Fellowship commitment. His loyalty to his family, friends and his faith was the center point of his life and will be his legacy. So now, Mike takes his new seat in the house of the Lord, surrounded by family and friends who have been previously called, and is no doubt telling stories around a heavenly campfire. He will be watching over all of us; he taught us by his example and he taught us well; so we know he would want us to be good to each other, strive for success, lead a life of faith and keep hope alive. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy a memorial fund will be established in Michaels memory. The family sincerely thanks Dr. Amy Spomer and her staff at Park Nicollet Frauenschuh Cancer Center and the physicians and staff on 4-West at the Park Nicollett Methodist Hospital for their compassionate care provided during Mikes illness.
