Holy Moly!...I can get myself in more predicaments!! Washed the car before dark...no problem. Got the dog inside the yard...no problem. Shut the gate so he couldnt get out while I walked over to the store...no problem. Came home from the store...gate is latched, front door is locked...big problem! As I stood there pondering what I might reach over the fence with, I remembered the black stool on the front porch. Of course the latch is too low for my arm to reach over the fence while balancing on the stool. Of course, I cleaned up all the sticks from the yard....of course I left the string for the latch on the inside of the gate...of course I did! Thankfully, I remembered the broom was left on the front porch!...touche!!! I was MOST thankful it was after 9 PM and dark, so no one was able to see my antics and frustrations! EARLIER in the day, just before 2, I had a funeral to go to. Naturally, my car battery was dead! (NO pun intended). Thankfully, the funeral home was right across the main street...of which took a good dodging of cars to run across it...in my dress...in what seemed like 110 degree weather! And of course the doormen watched me running and had to make a comment about the near suicide run once I got into the building. :) My landlord was also at the funeral and I gave him a check for the balance of my rent. He drove me back to the house and checked out my battery. He was pretty sure I needed a new one. Upon asking him what they cost....he handed me back my check! :) Les Schwab took every penny of the check within five minutes of driving into their garage. I didnt mind though...as now, every time I start the car I yell out--And she starts!-Booya~!
