Holy Spirit/Ruach HaKodesh And Speaking In Tongues!!! Shalom Brothers and Sisters, many have different opinions about baptism, the Holy Spirit/Ruach HaKodesh and also speaking in tongues. I was asked in a private message about this from a young sister called, Denden Dacles, she often asks me question that I enjoy to answer for her (but I really would like for her in future to ask them on the page ASK the Pastor) please then they can be shared with all... So what she asked me to answer was: Pastor, here I am again, asking: How can I/we say that I/we are already baptized in the Holy Spirit? Pastor and also about the speaking in tongues? How can we say that a person is pretending or not? So let me answer in the message today about: Holy Spirit/Ruach HaKodesh And Speaking In Tongues!!! Okay sister the first question: Everyone who undergoes water baptism of repentance then receives the Holy Spirit/Ruach HaKodesh through accepting Jesus/Yeshua as your new body... It tells us in Matthew 3:11; “I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” This was John the Baptist talking about Jesus/Yeshua after water baptism. The Holy Spirit/Ruach HaKodesh cannot come upon you fully until you have been baptized in water showing that you are willing to repent, get rid of the old SELF and put on the new body of Jesus/Yeshua in your life. In other words that you will continue your life without sin (if possible) and in the likeness of the life Jesus/Yeshua lived. Only then you will receive the full Holy Spirit/Ruach HaKodesh, before you have the Spirit/Ruach of God/Yahweh as everyone has. This is different, the Spirit/Ruach of God/Yahweh is everywhere from the beginning of time as it tells us in the Bible right at the start in Genesis 1:1-2; “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.” The Holy Spirit/Ruach HaKodesh is the third Spirit/Ruach as God/Yahweh and is given after repentance as your guide in life. So you baptize as told in Scripture, Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus/Yeshua tells His disciples; “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Okay now the second question: What is speaking in tongue? Is it just a lot of blah blah coming out of your mouth as many do and think it is? Lets go to the Scripture first talking about speaking tongues in the Upper Room: The book of Acts 2 talks about this whole incident, but let us start with verses 1-4; “When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.” The first verse talks of them all together in the upper room, how many were there and from where were they? Well in Acts 1:15 it says; “In those days Peter stood up among the believers (a group numbering about a hundred and twenty),” so there were 120 Believers gathered in the upper room... As to where they came from we will see in little while in Acts 2, but lets go back to the see what was written more in the four verses here: The violent wind that began blowing in from heaven was the Holy Spirit/Ruach HaKodesh coming down upon them and after that as we read they were filled with the Holy Spirit/Ruach HaKodesh. This is when we see they began to speak to each other in tongues as the Spirit/Ruach enabled then to do. Meaning what? Well when we read further down in Acts 2:5-12, this is where we will see where they came from and how they spoke in tongues as the Spirit/Ruach enabled them; “Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken. Utterly amazed, they asked: “Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans? Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language? Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome (both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!” Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, “What does this mean?”” So we saw from here they came from every nation under heaven, what did that mean? It meant that they all spoke different languages in different dialects: Like someone from India speaks a dialect of the Indian language but there are more than one dialect and not understand each other’s... The same was here in the gathering of the upper room many did not understand each other’s language. It was asked here also; “Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans? Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language?” You see here is the key to the speaking in tongues revealed in the second question, each one was hearing what was being said in their own native dialect or language!!! Because the Spirit/Ruach enabled the disciples to speak in the language, even though they did not know it, of each person present at this gathering so everyone understood what was being said!!! It says further down what we read here that those from all over said; we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues! In their language not blah blah that no one understands or can translate into a language for those to understand... Any one, who says that they can translate the blah blah that someone is spurting out as they say they are speaking in tongues, is a liar according Scripture here that we have read. Why? Because no one present there in the upper room came from a nation that spoke blah blah language, otherwise it would be written in Scripture. Instead it plainly tells us that they were told the message by the wonders of God/Yahweh through His Spirit/Ruach in their own language or dialect that they spoke!!! So we see that speaking in tongues is not what many people in the churches of God/Yahweh today do around the world. Anyone whether they are baptized, repented and received the Holy Spirit/Ruach HaKodesh or not can speak in the very same way as those who say they are speaking in tongues do in the churches worldwide. Like is says in verse 13; Some, however, made fun of them and said, “They have had too much wine.”” Those who were not ready to accept that the Holy Spirit/Ruach HaKodesh enabled the speakers to speak in every language needed, made fun and said they were drunk. Why? Because when someone in drunk it is hard to understand what they are saying as they slur words and talk a lot of blah blah!!! Here however as we saw before it was said; ‘we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!” Meaning again that they understood everything being said no matter from where they came from or what language they spoke!!! Speaking in tongues is not blah blah... But is speaking in a language that others will understand or will be able to translate so others can understand what is being said... I personally when I am in deep prayer will sometimes break into speaking in tongues... But not blah blah as everyone does, as heard around the worlds churches today. No!!! I speak in the Hebrew language when I speak in tongues, one of the dialects spoken back then in the upper room also. (Example): If I was speaking to you in prayer and then suddenly blurted out; Sra li kino sasha badda rad da dadda kada, Ha sano sara kada tado. Does anyone understand this and can anyone translate this into the English language so we can all understand this? If someone says; Yes I personally will call him or her a liar, because I wrote this and made it up as I was going along and it means absolutely nothing it is just blah blah that many do when they think they are speaking in tongues. Why? This is how their teachers, preachers or pastors have taught them... But it is wrong according to Scripture as nothing like this is written in the Word of God/Yahweh to do or practice. However if in prayer I suddenly blurted out; Yehe shelama rabba min shemayya [ve]hayyim [tovim] vesava vishuʻa veneḥama veshezava urfuʼa ugʼulla usliha vkhappara verevaḥ vehatzala lanu ulkhol ʻammo [ʻalainu val kol] yisrael vʼimru... Amen! In English it would read; May there be abundant peace from heaven, [and] [good] life satisfaction, help, comfort, refuge, healing, redemption, forgiveness, atonement, relief and salvation for us and all His people [upon us and upon all] Israel; and say, Amen! You see here you have a proper understanding of what has been said through translation... This is speaking in tongues!!! So when you hear someone just saying blah blah that no one understands or can translate then you know that they are pretending just like the drunk person talks!!! I hope this has answered your questions and thank you for asking... Please ask any question that you need an answer too, and God/Yahweh will help me through His Holy Spirit/Ruach HaKodesh answer each and everyone’s question from His Word the Bible and not my own thoughts... Be Blessed in the name and shed blood of Jesus/Yeshua our Savior and giver of the Holy Spirit/Ruach HaKodesh through repentance in water baptism... Hallelujah, Amen!!! PastorJeff Walker
