Home is a symbol of safety, but not even a fenced rental home at 56 Iguana Street Extension protected a three year-old girl, who was savagely battered by a pit-bull dog around 6am on Saturday morning. When her mother desperately interceded to defend her daughter’s life, the animal then attacked her. The dog, belonging to the owner of the property, Ricardo Velasquez, has purchased the medication that the child and her mother needs as well as he has agreed to pay the family for the time that Maria Guerra has to stay away from work to nurse herself and her daughter, Alicia back to health. Alicia Guardado had to be rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital bleeding profusely with bite wounds on her right upper thigh while Maria Guerra suffered wounds to her left leg.
