Homer Fitts asked me to pass the following message along to folks from the Barre area. The annual Florida BARRE AREA DAY will be held Wednesday, March 5th at the North Jetty Park at NOKOMIS BEACH, Florida (just north of Venice), from 10:00- 3:00. All BARRE AREA residents vacationing or living in Florida are encouraged to attend. Those attending need to bring their own lunch, beverage, AND, if there is a large crowd, perhaps your own chair. A new shelter is being built now with bathrooms and a snack bar, but the completion date is unknown at this time. This year, Stan Fitts and Homer Fitt’s wife, Margaret Guilmette-Fitts, are organizing the event. Roland and Ronnie Lajeunesse are also assisting as in the past. Bill and Mary Casey provide the usual musical entertainment along with Ron Parnigoni. Please encourage anyone you know from central Vermont, who are wintering in Florida, to attend this fun filled activity.
