Hon. Prime Minister, Namaste. Induction of Kiran Bedi as a privileged BJP member, being declared CM nominee within 24 hrs., are certainly components of a street-smart politics, short-cut to absolute majority in Delhi House as well as may be, need of the hour. However I am afraid, Party may have to pay a price in terms of organisational well-being in the long run. Kiran Bedi is not known to have relished or excelled hard-core policing. She was always found before TV cameras, break-fasting with US President Clinton in White House, Magsaysay Award, short-term deputation to NE may be to arrange a medical seat for someone...she is not known to have solved tough cases as revealed by some from Delhi Police who have observed her closely. Then her abrasive temperament, Constable type conduct are likely to cause friction, heartburn in the Party. I certainly do not mean to reconsider the decision once taken but I certainly press for raising powerful HRD Cells in Party at national / state levels to address issues of right manpower at the right time for the right position, iron out grievances, smoothen Bedi type inductions if unavoidable so that no shocks and surprises have to be administered to Party activists in future. Generally speaking, BJP is a Party of decent / cultured people who are serious about their responsibilities. I believe, if the idea of HRD Cells is undertaken seriously, it shall transform BJP into the most dynamic / vibrant Party in the world. With best regards, Ramakant Tiwari
