Honestly, Im beyond proud to be Canadian, but sometimes I feel sick to my stomach thinking about our history and the way we treated First Nations People. If our government hadnt stripped these spiritual beings of all their culture and freedom, Canada would be even more of a peaceful, naturally flourished country than it is now. DID YOU KNOW THE LAST RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL CLOSED DOWN IN 1996?! That might as well have been yesterday. If you dont know anything about the harsh reality of this dark point in Canadian history, I highly suggest you start educating yourself because there is so much that needs to be done to rectify this problem that goes far beyond some petty public apologies from our federal government. Justice needs to be served.
