Honesty Honesty is the complete unification of intent, effort, and action. It is the core of our behavior expressed in thought and deed. Through the repetition of resourceful postures with an intended outcome, we constantly place our bodies and minds in control of unity. Over time, the slightest malfeasance is foreign to good character and cannot be a resource to the practitioner. Honesty leads to maturity and is shown by the choices we make on a day to day basis. This can be manifested in our choices in how we deal with everyone we depend on, as well as those that depend on us. We know that if a stance does not support a strike we risk injury to ourselves. We also know that any inappropriate choice contains a certain element of risk. As martial artists, we try to be as honestly prepared in our practice to deal with opponents. We have already learned that discipline is more than just a statement of desire. Honesty is the value that puts is in charge through our actions. -Bill Packer (1946-2005)
