Hong Kong: Launched September 4, The Urban Design of Intervention, has been authored by Dr. Peter Cookson Smith, the architect, planner and the urban designer. The book has tried to trace a range of interventionist processes and influences on the architecture and urban development of 20 major cities of Asia, stretching over centuries. The city of Lahore, Pakistan, also makes through the book. To understand physical condition of the City, the author has explored the historical, cultural, economic and political dynamics of Lahore. Dr. Peter personnaly visited Lahore last year. The sketching of the buildings has been done by the author, himself. As Consul Press, I am privileged to extend assistance and support in making visit of the author to Lahore as well as proof-reading the Lahore chapter. The author has also acknowledged and has thanked the Pakistan Consulate, HK and the Ministry of Information, Pakistan, in his book. For that, I am very grateful to Mam Samina Parvez Khalid and Mam Nighat Shah for supporting me, by all means, in materializing visit of the author to Lahore.
