Honolulu police arrested a man who was allegedly seen wielding a knife near Puuhale Elementary Thursday. It happened at around 12:30 p.m. just outside the Aloha Learning Center for Farrington High School students, which is located on campus. Authorities say the man threatened two teenagers with a nine-inch knife and brass knuckles. They escaped without injuries and ran to the center’s director, Allan Silva, for help. Silva says the suspect is not associated with the center. “I wish he was. We could have helped him,” he said. “But no, he is not a student here at Farrington. My two students were shaken up a little, because a guy pulled a knife right in front of their face.” The suspect fled on a bike, but did not get far. Police caught him down the street and took his weapon. He was booked on terroristic threatening.
