Hooray, Arrived in Davao about 6 am on this friday morning. All of the students were busy completing their morning chores before classes begin here at the seminary. Bro. Glen was in his office trying decide which task to accomplish next on his desk. The flights across the globe were remarkably uneventful and relatively turbulent free. I enjoyed spending a day in Beijing; although, it is hard to see much further than 150 yards because the pollution is so thick. The great wall was as amazing as I could have imagined in my mind, and enjoyed climbing each one of those many steps in its 610 years of history. The forbidden city was closed from the common people until the 1920s, and has opulence unlike anything else in the city. Beijing was surprising uncrowded for a city of 21 million, but I probably chose the better of the sightseeing things to avoid the massive crowds. Also, I have discovered if you enjoy talking to the workers of the TSA, all you have to do is carry Bibles in bundles of 5 lining the bottom of your carry-on and you will get pulled out of the line every time. I have to admit, there was some apprehension when the police in Beijing asked why I was bringing Bibles into China; however, I still confidently said, so I could tell others about Jesus and give them a Bible. He declined my offer of a Bible to him, and quickly closed my bag and moved me on through. Later in the day though, I did get to have a conversation with my private tour guide of the city. She did accept a Bible and wondered if she could keep it. I told her yes, forever, and ever. She was so excited.
