Hope The Lord said in, Job 19:25-27 I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes--I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me! It is one thing to say you believe in God when things are going smooth. When you are reasonably healthy and all the parts of your life fit together, faith is very easy to possess. When all the parts of our life are fitting together and everything is humming along we don’t need much faith because we are not being tested. However, in Job, who was tested in ways most of us mortals will never experience, we find Job speaking words of hope. Hope is the fuel of life. Right to the very end of our life hope springs eternal in us. In our last breath as Christians we can say along with Job, I myself will see him. For many people life is full of pain, suffering, agony, and worldly defeat. For other folk, they never seem to taste the bitter fruits. But no matter who you are or what your life is like you need hope. Hope is the invisible fuel we get from God. Hope is the fuel keeping us going, and going, and going, like the mechanical rabbit. Hope is our vision of tomorrow. In Christ, we find a hope bigger than hope. If there was ever one single attribute of Christ’s life which has had the greatest impact upon humanity the attribute is hope. In Christ, and because of Him, we can see over the edge of the horizon into an eternal life of no pain, no suffering, and no defeat. In Christ, and because of Him we can be a winner as we face every challenge. Because He lived and died for us, we have ultimate victory. In Him there is no darkness and no defeat. Pastor Rubin Wilson
