Hope everyone enjoyed the Garden Spot Festival this week end. Fact is it has cost me about $600. They put up banners each year and fasten them to power poles with STEEL cables. Well, apparently a big truck hooked onto one of the banners about 2 blocks from my house. Instead of the cables breading, it pulled the power pole over and broke it off at the ground. The tension on the wires pulled the next pole over. My hookup was on the second pole and it pulled the pole, box, and wires off my house. The third pole, just past my driveway broke and dumped the transformers into the street. A crew was out very quickly to start repairs and I mentioned my damage. I was told that was my problem and they would restore me power after I paid an electrician to repair the damage. This was about 4 yesterday and my power was just turned back on. I am not a happy camper. Those banners should break when snagged so I feel the town is at fault and should pay for my repairs. Just another government ripoff.
